MSC CRUISES DELAYS RESTART OF OPERATION FOR MSC MAGNIFICA TO 14 FEBRUARY IN CONNECTION WITH ASHORE MEASURES IN GREECE

Greek government’s local lockdown measures restricting passenger port operations during the current holiday period are likely to be extended further causing uncertainty for the ship’s guests
MSC Grandiosa to welcome MSC Magnifica’s guests when she restarts on the 10th of January

Geneva, Switzerland – 22 December 2020 - MSC Cruises announced today the extension to the pause of operations for MSC Magnifica in connection with the additional lockdown measures that the Greek government have recently put in place ashore to manage the pandemic and that will now likely extend beyond the current holiday period. As part of these measures, currently through 6 January passenger ships are only able to make technical calls in Greek ports.

Due to the uncertainty at this stage as to whether these ports will fully re-open on 7 January or if these measures will be further extended as it is very likely to be the case, the Company has taken the decision to postpone for the benefit of its guests the resumption of operations for MSC Magnifica until 14 February 2021.

Guests booked on MSC Magnifica before her new restart date will be able to transfer their booking to MSC Grandiosa as early as the 10th of January 2021, when the ship is due to restart her Western Mediterranean itinerary calling ports only in Italy and Malta.

MSC Cruises ships operate under the protecting of the Company’s comprehensive health & safety protocol. For more details see here.
