welcome to our brand-new destinations
in apulia and sicily

April 2021
We’ve got something special in store for this summer! MSC Seaside will be back sailing, joining MSC Grandiosa in the marvelous Mediterranean. While MSC Grandiosa will continue her tour of the classic Western Mediterannean, MSC Seaside will be showcasing a BRAND-NEW itinerary including the ports of Taranto and Siracusa plus firm favourites Genoa, Valetta in Malta and Civitavecchia.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make sure this is an unforgettable cruise, including some incredible shore excursions to choose from. Read on for some of the highlights!
Taranto
Taranto, in the southern Italian region of Apulia has a lot going for it. The natural harbour and turquoise waters are just the start; both the old and new towns have plenty to keep visitors happy while in port, plus is makes the perfect base from which to discover the all that Puglia has to offer!
No summer holiday would be complete without a day at the beach and a dip in the sea; especially when that sea is the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian! We’ve worked closely with the city of Taranto, Apulia, to secure a private beach for our guests, so you can enjoy your day out on the beach with maximum comfort and minimum stress. There are no less than three beach clubs to choose from, plus we'll transfer you to and from the ship and throw in reserved sunbeds too!
Top excursion: Alberobello
You’ll leave the port of Taranto for a coach ride through the Italian countryside to Alberobello, famous for its distinctive round stone houses with conical roofs, known as "trulli". Alberobello was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1996. Your tour includes a guided tour of the delightful streets of this most unusual village.
Syracuse
One of Sicily’s most ancient cities, Siracusa, makes its MSC Cruises debut this summer. Our protected shore excursions will show you the best that this beautiful town has to offer!
Top excursion: Archaeological treasures of Siracusa
Immerse yourself in the rich archaeological treasures of one of the most powerful city-states in the ancient world on this half-day tour. Your journey of discovery across the ages will begin in the Neapolis Archaeological Park with a visit to the Greek Theatre, the biggest ever built in Sicily and one of the largest in the Greek world. Featuring a typical Greco-Romano design, it could accommodate an audience of over 13.000!
