In the run-up to our return to the seas in mid-August, the main focus of MSC Cruises was one thing only: the health and safety of you, our customers.

 

That’s why we are so proud to announce that classification society RINA has provided an independent guarantee of compliance with regulatory standards and notated MSC Grandiosa with the class ‘Biosafe’ ship.  The Biosafe Ship is a goal-based notation that certifies that the ship is equipped with systems, components and has a layout and operational procedures that reduce risk of infection.

 

RINA had previously verified that the MSC Cruises health and safety protocol met the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) Joint Guidance.  This confirmation that our protocol is in line with the guidance of the two key European authorities was a crucial part of the process to allow the return of our ships to the seas.

 

 

It has now been two months that MSC Grandiosa has been back sailing the Med, where she has been joined by MSC Magnifica in the Eastern and Western Med between Italy and Greece.

 

For both ships, MSC Cruises has developed comprehensive new ways of operating, building upon already stringent health and safety measures that have long been in place on board our ships.
