MSC Cruises and STX France held on 28 November MSC Bellissima's traditional Steel Cutting ceremony at STX France's shipyard in Saint Nazaire, marking the official commencement of construction of the second member of our Meraviglia generation of ships, coming into service in 2019.
COIN CEREMONY

MSC Bellissima, the second of our Meraviglia class of ships coming into service in March 2019, celebrated her traditional coin ceremony where two commemorative coins were placed into one of the ship's blocks as a sign of blessing and good fortune for the ship and her crew.
FLOAT OUT

The float-out of MSC Bellissima marked the next important milestone in the ship’s construction as the ship is moved from dry dock to wet dock. This is the true “birth” of the ship as she touches water for the first time.
DELIVERY CEREMONY

MSC Cruises has taken delivery of MSC Bellissima from Chantiers de l’Atlantique, a world leader in cruise ship construction.
MSC Bellissima’s Delivery Ceremony took place in the presence of Gianluigi Aponte, MSC Group’s Founder and Executive Chairman. Also present were Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman, MSC Cruises, Laurent Castaing, General Manager, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, as well as other regional and local authorities and dignitaries.

MSC Cruises’ new flagship MSC Bellissima has come into service after a glittering naming ceremony held on March 2nd. The new addition to the MSC Cruises fleet has become the largest ship to be launched in Southampton.
